Hippie on a high hill

Being out in nature is one of my favourite things to do. I love filling my lungs with fresh air and taking time out to relax in the peace and quite and appreciate the work of Mother Nature. I realise how much of a hippie I sound, but it's so so true.  I love the City but it doesn't have the same effect on me as nature does. I've spent a lot of time stuck in bed ever since I became unwell with M.E. and getting out to the open air makes me so happy. Having the wind blow through my hair and hearing the birdsong in my ears is normally just what I am in need of. I've blogged about this place before, but when it's so beautiful it's allowed to be blogged about time and time again. This is one of my favourite places to go to and it's only a half an hour drive away from my boyfriend's house. You wouldn't think that the City of Madrid is a half an hour drive away from this would you?!

I am aware how weird my arm looks in this photo. But let's ignore that. Fanta advert anyone?
My element is definitely water. I love being close to the water, I find it so calming. We were too high for me to dip my feet into the water this time, seeing as you know... we were basically in the clouds. Whenever I'm stood (or more likely sat with my poorly legs!) with miles of water in front of me - be it the sea or a lake, I'm always so intrigued as to what creatures lurk in the depths of the water. Considering this lake is one of the biggest lakes in all of Spain, I'm guessing some pretty large fish call these waters home! My Brother often watches 'Extreme Fishing' on TV, it's enough to make anyone scared of mysterious open waters, some of the fish are bigger than fully grown men! Ahhh! Maybe I should be grateful I couldn't dip my feet in after all.

You can't have a post title with the word 'hippie' in it and not include at least one 'back to nature' photo.
What would you say your element is? Are you water like me? Earth? Wind? Maybe you're red hot fire?

Where is your favourite place to go to when you need an escape from day to day life?

Peace & love

  21. I saw a snapshot of this post on Bloglovin' and immediately was impressed by such beautiful photos! I would say that my element is water as I find it calming and restful, although when Christmas nears my heart is captured by flames; candles, open fires, bonfires etc. :)

    1. I think lots of ill people have the same view, nature seems to help a lot of us, maybe because being ill can often feel suffocating and being out in nature we feel like we can breathe, and that we are free again.

  34. According to astrology and all that jazz, I'm fire, but like you, I'm obsessed with large bodies of water. I feel very claustrophobic when I'm not near some water. The Thames is my favourite bit of London because it's the only place where I can even vaguely see where the ground and the sky meet!
