I have a big love hate relationship with autumn (fall to my friends overseas). On the one hand it's a super pretty time of year, but on the other it starts to get cold and I really do not like the cold. With that in mind, the best way for me to accept that the new season has arrived is to update my autumn wardrobe, because buying clothes is the best way to make any not so appealing situation better, right?
The best thing about this time of year is that we start to become surrounded by such beautiful, warm, rich colours. Orange, yellow, red and brown leaves make everything outside look so pretty. I love to take inspiration from nature so this time of year always draws me to rich autumnal colours like this yellow faux leather skirt* from Yoins. Not only is it such a beautiful colour adding some fake sunshine into your life during those grey miserable days, (and who doesn't want that?) But it's also ideal for layering which is always a bonus! I'm really loving yellow as a trend colour this year, are you?
Wanting a strong transition look, I wore the skirt with a bardot bodysuit top* from Quiz (who also have some lovely going out dresses I should add....) I love the femininity of the bardot style, and again, really love it as a trend. Opting for a brown lip just for added autumn vibes, my favourite killer thigh highs* and this lovely velvet choker which came from my friends brand new online shop, check it out at kmbshop.tictail.com. I think I now feel a little bit better about autumn being here, thanks to the fake autumn sunshine.
