Creative Ways To Get Fit In 2019

Is 2019 the year that you’re going to get fit? Making a New Year’s resolution to lose weight and shape up is one of the most common promises that we make at the start of every new year, but can you stick to your resolution? All too often, we find that after a few weeks we stop going to the gym, or stop going for that after-work jog and we fall back into our old habits.

If you want to get fit in 2019, the key is to find an activity that you really enjoy. While some people might really love going for a run every evening or spending an hour pounding the treadmill, most of us want something more exciting and engaging from our workout. With that in mind, here are some creative ways you can get fit this year.

Shoot Some Hoops
Basketball is a lot of fun. Whether you install a basketball hoop in your own backyard and play on your own or whether you join a club and play with others, it can be a creative way of getting fit and shaping up. If you haven’t played basketball since you were in school, it’s time to start again. All that run, jumping and stretching will keep you toned and you’ll really enjoy that feeling of accomplishment every time you score! If you’re a newcomer to basketball, you’ll need to choose the right equipment and training aids that are recommended for beginners to get you off to the right start with your new pastime.

Zumba
Do you love dancing? If so, why not take up Zumba? You can really burn those calories when you do a Zumba workout. Each class lasts around an hour and involves some high intensity aerobic style exercises which feel just like you’re dancing with your friends! The music is great, and the whole class has a party-style atmosphere. Lots of time, the participants actually sing along to the music while they work out – it’s a creative and exciting workout and you’ll really notice the difference after a few weeks of Zumba.

Interactive Exercise Bikes
Do you like the idea of using gym equipment but don’t want to sign up to a gym? An exercise bike in your own home could be the ideal solution. There are lots of different exercise bikes on the market today, however there are some modern models which have something completely different to offer that will really help you to get the most out of each and every workout. They have interactive classes which are transmitted over the internet to you and the other class participants. You can actually hear the workout instructor encouraging you as you ride and you’ll know that you’re in the company of lots of other home cyclists while you work out. It’s all the best elements of a workout class without ever having to leave your home.

Ice Skating
Ice skating is a serious workout. Trying to balance and keep yourself upright on the ice is a workout enough without the effort of trying to propel yourself around the rink. You can really feel the muscles in your legs and core working hard and as you get better you can push yourself even harder. It’s a really fun way to get fit.

Aqua Jogging
We all know that jogging is a great cardio workout, but it can be pretty boring pounding the same sidewalk day after day. Why not try something a little different and also a little more energetic by going aqua jogging? You can join a class or simply do it yourself at your local swimming pool. All you need to do is run in the water. You’ll be amazed by how difficult it can be and how much effort you’ll have to put in. It combines the best of cardio with the best of resistance training for a double whammy workout that’ll really tone your muscles, give your metabolism and boost and help you to shape up in no time.

With these creative ideas for workouts, 2019 really could be the year that you reach your fitness goals and achieve that toned, fit body!
